Home of the "Nantucket Reds", Murray's Toggery has been both a Main Street fixture and a Nantucket institution for over half a century. And it's been family-run almost from the beginning. Philip Murray purchased The Toggery Shop, a men's clothing business, in 1945, and by the early 50s his son, Philip C. Murray, had returned to the island and joined the firm. The store has continued to grow both in size and service; today it carries men's, women's, and children's clothing, including an exclusive line of traditional sportswear featuring the Murray's Toggery label. Today Philip's son John and daughter Trish, as well as son-in-law Gilles Bridier manage the buying and daily operation of the business. It's a small - town store with big-city style and a devoted local, national, and international clientele. The store, which is open year-round, is popular with off-island visitors and island residents who find Murray's Toggery perfect not only for shopping, but for that age-old Nantucket tradition, "having a gam"--i.e., chewing the fat. Familiar faces greet you in this store, and most customers linger a while to chat with staff, who are part of the larger island family.

Nantucket Bank was originally known as the Nantucket Institution for Savings. The Bank received its charter from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on April 2, 1834, and opened for business on January 26, 1835. The steady growth of the bank is reflected in its deposit history. On that first day of operation in 1835 the Bank received eleven deposits totaling $257. By the end of its first year deposits had grown to $1,708, and in 1885, it's 50th year, deposits totaled $339 thousand. By its 100th year the Bank had long passed the million dollar mark with deposits of $2.6 million. The 150th anniversary, celebrated in 1984, showed the deposits exceeding $50 million, and today the Bank has deposits over $300 million, and assets in excess of $700 million. The Bank is a division of Sovereign Bank, now a part of Santander Group.

Kent's Kards are created by Kent Martling, an autistic artist. Kent was first diagnosed with PDD-NOS (Pervasive Developmental Disorder - Not Otherwise Specified), a form of autism on the autistic spectrum, at the age of 3. He has lived on Nantucket since 1997. He loves to draw and fish, as well as tie flies for fishing. Kent is also a fan of steam locomotives and has a large collection of HO trains.
